You may remember, last November, that I was very excited to announce that I’d re-signed with Giant for at least another two years. I had a chuckle when Kelly Minahan (on Facebook) thought that I’d ‘resigned’ not ‘re-signed’. Two very different things! Relax, Kelly, it’s all good!
I’m proud to be associated with Giant, so I was even more excited recently when they sent through a draft of their Press Release. I’ll let you read it for yourself…
Awesome stuff! In response, I just want to say a public thank you to the team at Giant. Thanks for your continuing support, not to mention the promotion – moving up to global athlete status sounds impressive!
Seriously though, I’m loving the Giant Trinity Advanced SL and I’ve got no hesitation in recommending Giant gear to anyone who is serious about riding the best – you guys are at the cutting-edge. And I know you’re always working hard to stay ahead of the game- doing your best for all your riders, sponsored or not.
I look forward to working with the Giant engineers and designers to see what we can come up with in the future. I know there are already some cool things in the pipeline. Exciting times!
So, go hard… and ride Giant.

Hi Tim, I have been reading about your training over the past 6 months and you actually motivated myself to buy a giant trinity SL. I have now done my 3r Olympic distance and recently did my PD of 2hrs 15mins. I have been only riding for 1 yr now and hoping to get under the 2hr mark in another 12 months. Good luck with the new year and hope you get what you put in.
nath84 I’m glad to hear that someone has gained something from all this blogging/tweeting stuff 🙂 Well done on doing a PB! It’s really satisfying when all the hard work comes to fruition. You can’t go wrong with a Trinity. Super stiff bikes and not to mention really fast.
As for the swimming sessions, it’s not easy especially if you haven’t been a swimmer all your life. Unfortunately you can’t avoid it so best you get back in there. Depending on where you are with you swimming it will depend on what to focus on. I’d suggest you sit down with a coach and together you can nut through the specifics.
Keep up the hard work and I’m sure you’ll get under that magical number of 2hrs.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hey Tim,
Really appreciate the words of encouragement. Wish you all the best. Have no idea how you guys train as much as you do but nonetheleess go for it. Are you doing the mooloolabar 70.3. I’m going to do the Olympic mooloolabar in 3 weeks then set my training on my first 70.3 there after.
Your from Lennox, I usually surf at Hastings or Cabarita when south.
I’m averaging 36km/hr for my bike legs and am wanting to achieve a 40km avg hopefully by the end of the yr. I know it’s a probably sort after question but what’s the biggest training to achieve this, sprints?
Thanks again for your time bud!
